Oh no! Looks like some of the lab rodents have escaped, and became infected. I hate to say it, but we'll have to put them down so they can't spread it any further.
I was lucky to stick in that cage for so long… otherwise, I'd have to end up like them!

The only way to destroy the slime mold is to burn it. We'll have to scavenge the lab - we'll need all the matches you can find, and some kind of flammable liquid. There's a chlorine trifluoride spill over in the corner - look for a yellow-green puddle. That's the most flammable chemical we have in the lab, so bring some of that back, too.
I hope that didn't give you too much trouble!

In the hallway you've just opened up, you'll find the rest of the caged animals. The keys to their cages are still here - probably hidden in those engorged slime molds. Tear them apart until you've fond all the keys, then use them to open the cages.
One of the cages was already open? It looked… TORN open? That does NOT sound good.

To reach the source of the blue mold, we're going to have to get down to the basement. The fastest way down there is through a hole we rodents chewed in one of the cages, long ago. Unfortunately, the occupant of that cage has succumbed to the infection, and it's currently blocking our path.
You know what to do.
It's unfortunate, but that cat would have eaten me, anyway.

I know I had chewed a hole in this room when I escaped before, but the mold seems to be covering it. Burn it down until you find it, then follow it down into the basement.
