Welcome to the Mana Core, er, the Plane of Mana. They're in the same spot so they might as well be the same thing. You can call it whichever one you want. C'mon, I'll show you around. We'll head straight down the path to the right until we reach the junction. Careful, we'll need to fight off some of those wyverns you'll recognize. They got dragged here because the patronizing voices up there thought they were you. But hey, go easy on them…
When the wyverns first started getting dragged into the Plane, they were crazy vicious! I had to climb up on the trees to avoid them. Eventually, the stronger ones died out and the newer arrivals were a lot weaker. Did I fight them? No, I wanted them around. I wanted to hear your voice - otherwise it's just silence and the jerks in the sky. They're actually gentle when they get tired. It's just that holding their hand makes them disappear.

Before I got shunted into a leyline, I knew Planes existed but had no idea how they worked. Still don't. But this isn't even a completed Elemental Plane. It's attempting to follow the universe's rules and become a real Plane because it's overflowing with power. Check out those people-shaped blue things. They're attempts at creating elementals. The ones that can move aren't nice. They won't leave us be unless we re-liquefy them.
The Plane of Mana could make real elementals, but the attempts are being suppressed. See all the ones here? They're unfinished and completely mindless. The weirder of the trio of voices described what they did to the Plane as "halting its gestation." Dunno what that word means but essentially, they don't want an Avatar or Elementals to be born. They couldn't have been completely successful. I wonder if any elementals escaped.

The problem with the Mana Core is that it shifts all the time. These paths change direction and it's easy to get completely lost. Let's go down the South route first, and hope for the best. Hey, would it be too much trouble for you to run ahead and scare away a few monsters? I hear them growling and flapping their wings. Those might look and sound like infernals but they're fake creations one of the voices made to keep me in line.
Oh, I know where we are. The infernal copies are here cause the jerks watching us don't like it when I wander here. They know these things still scare me because of…I must look really sad right now, huh? Gravelyn grabbed my hand out of nowhere while you were fighting the fake infernals off. Umm, can we go behind the trees on our own for a minute? Not to talk or anything. I just don't want Gravelyn or Drakath to see me cry like a baby.

Today, the South path led us to the beach. The Core, or Plane, is the heart of Lore. It circulates Mana through the leylines. Some of the mana pools here but it'll flow down the waterfall, gather below in a bottomless ocean, and get pumped into the Leylines. Come and squint over the crest of the falls with me. You can see the leylines. And please shove any fake infernals you find off the edge of the cliff. I hate them soooo much.
There's a reason why the fake infernals are infesting the beach. I tried to escape from the Mana Plane by jumping off the manafall. Ten or fifty attempts later, and I'm still here. Too bad there's too much mana in this ocean. The voices you heard have to concentrate to control the amount of Mana that flows out of the Core. If they don't, the leylines and anything connected to it will burst open. We'd be an asteroid belt instead of a planet.

The beach is a dead end, and our hosts can't be bothered to scoot over. We're going to have to hoof it back to the junction and try the path leading due East. If Drakath were a better person, I'd ask him to fly us into the air so we can get our bearings but I know he'll drop us. He could ditch if he wants, and get blasted to smithereens. No? Darn. Guess he'll be watching us fight off the freaky elementals on our way back.
The things in the Mana Core and I have one thing in common. We both hate Drakath and Chaos. Except, they hate chaos because it could be out of their control. With Drakath, they find him annoying or sad. Now that the Queen of Monsters is gone, he doesn't really know what to do. Even the idea of stealing the crown from Victoria doesn't motivate him. "Directionless" is what they called him. I know he's listening and I hope it makes him mad.

The Path East took us to what I call, the museum grove. When I'm not getting yelled at, I explore the Plane and find a bunch of old funky stuff. To pass the time, I gather them here. They look like they came from the surface but I also get the feeling that they don't belong anywhere. Wanna take a break to give these a look? You're going to have to race Gravelyn and Drakath. They're already getting their prints all over everything!
You guys are really into this stuff! I just thought they looked neat. None of the voices stopped me from collecting these things. Wait…Do these belong to them? Have I been cleaning up after them? They tricked me! They didn't say anything but it's still a trick! Lugging that statue over here took forever! I even cleaned that creepy armor to see if I could recognize it. Oh well, at least the dress is nice. It makes me think of my mom.

I hear heavy skulking footsteps. They're from the Crystalized Mana. I don't think they're like elementals. Their teeth chatter and gnash so angrily, and sometimes I can understand the noises. These might be the consciousness of the dormant Mana Avatar rising to the surface and taking solid form. Einsof is confused and angry that it can't be born. Gravelyn looks interested in them. If she wants to investigate, we should help her wrangle a few.
Gravelyn crushed up their bodies and held up the pebbles for me to listen to. That way, I can actually make out words! Einsof has been learning language by listening to me and the voices above, waiting for a chance to rise. Gravelyn's so smart! She always knows what she's doing, and never hesitates. I once overheard Victoria say that, and how much she admired Gravelyn, but felt a little jealous. What a relief - I wasn't the only one.

There's only the North route left. That'll lead us to the hill where I speak to those cranky voices. Well, one of them is nice. They even showed me how to make pillows out of Mana. Let's stop by the pillows, and figure out how we're going to confront those awful masks. You'll know what I'm talking about when we meet them. The meanest of the bunch would've left fake infernals nearby to get to my head. Could you help me get rid of them?
The nice voice had to be sneaky about helping me. Learning how to make pillows out of Mana seems innocent, but I took what I learned and applied it to making weapons or copying regular elemental spells. My tutors would be so mad at me. It took complete isolation to get me to study the boring way. But, that means I can help you when we climb the hill. Instead of causing problems, I can protect you!

The half-baked elementals are acting up. Umm, they'll bother us if we don't deal with them, so can we beat up a few? I know. I'm stalling us but this is a good warm up. You'll need it. From down here, I've listened to the voices discuss you and what's happening in Lore. They don't have anything good to say. Even the nicer one clams up when the others speak your name…When you're ready, we'll go meet them at the top of the hill.
They say they lost their names and place in the universe because the timelines were fused into one. That act created our world, and you were the Creator. There wasn't any room for them, so they were forced here. Now, they're only known by what they used to mean to the people that loved and feared them. Infamy, Tranquility, and The Law.

It'll be four versus three, with you and me against the Mask of Tranquility. If we lose, The Law and Infamy said that you would need to 'go Silent' and that one of them would take your titles. To be honest, I don't think we can win but that won't be the point. We just need to prove that you can fight them off, and have the power to protect Lore! Let's show them what we're made of!
You can't just give your powers away and be free. What if the person taking over is selfish or becomes selfish? What if they don't understand what those powers mean? There isn't any point in gods and goddesses who do nothing. If they only make us fix their problems, they're no better than the infernals that killed me. You understand us, understand what a mistake is, and maybe, going easy on each other would make a happier world.

Tranquility confessed to me that they're trying their best to be tough but fair. They're just not as confident as they used to be. Actually, Tranquility's worried that they were never confident at all. Their ‘other half' handled the tougher parts of being a deity. You know, Victoria and I felt better when we found ways to get our blood pumping. How about we fight some monsters and spar with Tranquility to clear the bad thoughts?
I asked if Tranquility was angry that you're the top dog in Lore now. They'd actually rather you take care of things from now on, if that's possible. That all depends on the choice we're going to make together. How are we going to deal with Malgor? If we destroy him, our current ‘cycle' will fall with the other deadlines. Malgor won't be there in the past to slay the Queen of Monsters either. Who knows what's going to happen…

It should be a straight shot down from here. Careful, it's steep and teeming with these Elemental Attempts. I guess we'd see more of them here. They want to be close to their big boss. Hm, the Elementals are acting a lot meaner too. They must have been disturbed by Malgor barging in, and are looking for him. I'll help you clear them out so we won't go rolling down the slope.
Here's a weird thought, why do Elementals and even the Avatars even talk to us? They have their own Planes, but it's those Planes that pick mortals as Champions. Is there a purpose? I didn't have anything to do with these Elementals before, but now I feel…frustrated that they can't grow. I understand that. I haven't been able to grow ever since I got stuck here. There's already an emotional connection between us.

The Crystalized Mana are here too! They're the solidified thoughts of the Avatar of Mana, stomping around the slope and making a mess. I'm sure they're extra agitated because of Malgor tearing through here. We can tell from all these broken trees and crushed bushes. We should clear them out of the way too. While we're at it, I can listen to their fragments to see how Einsof is doing.
The way the shards vibrate…Have you ever had a nightmare, woken up, and started grabbing at the blankets? I'd have bad dreams like that, but I had a toy or my sisters nearby. I think Einsof is going through that too, but they can't move so these Crystalized Mana creatures are born instead. Oh…It's like the Mana Avatar is reaching out for any sort of interaction and comfort.

Hold on a second, you see those glowing white lines on the ground? They're little leyline veins coming directly out of where Einsof is sleeping. But further down, there are these dark looking cracks in the ground. What are those? Did Malgor put them there? Let's take a look at both in case he's been messing around.
I get it now! The small white leylines sprout from Einsof's body, but don't lead anywhere. Inside is the purest and most potent form of Mana possible. And the fissures with all that dark stuff coming off of it are dug-out leylines. Something was here, and it sucked out all that Mana. Hmm, you understand Shadowflame more than I do, and this isn't it. This wasn't Malgor's work. Someone was here long before him.

There's a whole throng of Crystalized Mana and Elemental Attempts gathering down at that shore! Malgor must have been here. He probably waded off into this big lake of Mana. That's definitely not a puddle. We're not going to be able to fight if you need to swim. How about you clear the Elementals and Crystalized Mana from the shore while I figure that out?
I figured I could harden the mana in small portions so we'd be able to walk on top of it. Here's a secret, I'm not so good at swimming. I had teachers, but…I would always yell that I wanted my sisters or dad to show me. It's funny to think that those Elementals are the same. They can't swim 'cause Einsof isn't there to show them. Hey, can you imagine if Malgor learned from you, and… uh, sorry. I shouldn't bring that up.

One step at a time, I can't harden the mana fast enough if you walk ahead too quickly! And up ahead are…more Crystalized Mana? They look very purple, I've never seen them come in that color before. And of course they can walk on top of Mana. Huh, these ones seem more organized. They're moving to block us from going any further. It looks like they aren't going to let us pass without a fight.
You know for sure that Malgor didn't corrupt the Crystalized Mana with Shadowflame. He's not wasting any time, just going straight for the center of this crater. But something did mess with these Crystals. Hm? It just looks like regular elemental darkness? How could that be possible? Those empty leylines on the slope…someone or something broke into the Mana Core long before we got here.

There he is! Deeper into the center of the crater is Einsof's body! And crawling all over it are straight up Darkness Elementals. I have a lot of questions, but we know that Malgor can't just conjure Elementals out of nowhere- regular Darkness Elementals, at least. They had to have come from somewhere else. They're also pretty miffed that we're looking their way. Alright, time to put them up again!
Shadowflame isn't Darkness. It's a corruptive force and power that originates from Malgor. But Malgor is also something you created by accident. I don't know if Avatars need to concentrate and make Elementals or if they just pop out of the Plane. No one bothers to tell us these things. I wonder…what would Malgor be like if you had intentionally brought him to life. That's a huge can of worms I'll save for later.

I've never seen Einsof myself before, but those veins on its body don't seem right. They're a very distinct type of purple. Nothing darkness related or your standard poison. You know…the type that my dad had when he was sick. Didn't you mention that Malgor had the Queen of Monsters' Heart? What if… no. Let's not jump to conclusions. We need to look closer at those veins to make sure.
It's Chaos. I know what being sick from Chaos infection looks like. Chaos turned my dad into a ticking time bomb. His skin grew cold and pale, and sometimes when he fell asleep, I wondered if I was looking at a hollow body. You said the Heart could transform someone into the Queen. This…this is nothing like that. Whatever Malgor did with Shadowflame and Chaos is making Einsof go hollow.

At first, I thought these Darkness creatures were eating off of Einsof, but no. They seem to be protecting the Mana Avatar. Thanks to Malgor's intrusion, they've lumped us in as threats. At least they slowed him down a bit, but we can't let them get in our way. We're so close to finding Malgor, I can feel Einsof struggling against whatever he's doing! Hurry!

Malgor doesn't see a way out for him or for you. The final solution is to poison Einsof with Shadowflame and Chaos from the Queen of Monster's Heart. The way he says it, a final and silent peace will fall on all of Lore. Not even other worlds, however many there are, will survive. We'll just stop existing. Life is hard, but death isn't the answer. You can do it! You can stop him!
Malgor's down for the count! But…I still can't hear Einsof. Mana is still going haywire all over Lore. What are we going to do?

Einsof felt for Malgor's despair. They transformed him into the demigod he could have been if you had been there to teach him in the beginning. Despair makes Malgor stronger, and having a taste of this impossible dream is making that anguish burn. Both you and Malgor need to fight one last time. All I can do is stand back. You can defeat him, and convince him that you can live on.
You said you had a solution, and that I might not like you after you make that decision. Whatever happens from here on out, I'll understand.

Malgor, the Mumblers, and the False Wyverns manifested without you knowing right? There's no one around to teach you the ropes of being an Eternal Dragon, so how could you control it? Imagine if we could make elementals ourselves. Why don't we check out the Elementals and look for anything left behind by Malgor? We're not going to make anyone new or anything crazy like that. We're just learning on our own.
This is way harder than I thought it'd be. It's a no go, but the Old Worlds' Order would demolish you seven ways to Sunday if you tried that so soon after Malgor. But being able to create demigods…it sounds cool, but complicated in practice so we should stay away from that. You'd need proper guidance too. Just not from Varga…you said you had suspicions that this warfury lied to you? Oof, that's complicated.

Malgor was formed by a wish - a villain the Alliance could continue to unite against instead of turning their ambitions against each other. His armor materialized to finalize that identity against his own wishes of becoming your savior. If you could create Malgor, do you think you can make just his armor out of what we have available? It could be useful practice for the future.
It’s Malgor’s armor down to the details! Imagine if you could make other spiffy items, like a cool set of digs for a certain Champion of Mana? Then again, we have the Old World’s Order breathing down our necks. Actually, Infamy saw us and said “Malgor was your creation, which means he and everything that belongs to him is yours. Pick up your toys and get out of here.” Maybe they haven’t noticed this ability yet?

The Temple is officially under the ownership of Lady Celestia. She, the groundskeeper, and Warlic are going to keep the place running while we're on the road. They're just up ahead and inside the Temple. Why don't we go say hello? Lady Celestia recruited a few of her students to stand guard - these Termina Defenders are looking to spar and learn from you too. Looks like the name I came up with stuck!
I don't know Warlic, Hans, and Lady Celestia that well, but they're definitely reliable if you and big sis vouch for them. Warlic offered to continue my magic lessons, and Hans and the Priestess gave me some sweets. I…really miss home, but I can't go back. Not the way I am now. Thanks to you and the others, the Temple comes close enough, and it's way better than the Mana Core.

Grav…I guess I have to call her the Empress when we're out on official business. She sent her loyalists to help guard the Temple. I won't ever vouch for Evil, no way no how. Except, I really do like Empress Gravelyn which makes me trust the people that support her. Vic also sent those scholars, Muusa and Maya, to help us. Let's welcome them and test out the new Guards Shakaz brought with him.
You're familiar with Maya, but not as much with Shakaz and Muusa. Well… if the Empress and the Queen are recommending them, it's hard for me to doubt their judgement. We need all the help we can get, and if nothing but loyalty and knowledge motivates those three, then we can't ask for more. Rest up, we can't stay for long. Once Maya bundles the research she put together, we're hitting the beach.

I thought we could start looking for Aria and the others right away, but we can't let Maya walk into the village on her own. Ashray has a major dock crowding problem. I've heard of Shark Bait jumping on land to annoy sailors, but these seem different from the stories. Their eyes are huge, and they don't blink when they try to stab me. It's creepy. How about we shove them in a net to give Maya room to get to the village?
Great! Now we have some breathing room, and a bunch of Shark Bait in a net! Maya's off to find an Inn, and we're standing here with some dead fish. The Shark Bait died not too long after we caught them. Um… is it a waste of food if we toss them back in the ocean? Dad and Vic always told me to never waste a farmer and fisherman's hard work. Fish with legs, though? I dunno if I could stomach that, even if it was deep-fried.

Asking the locals for questions and Shark Bait cooking tips isn't working out. They're raising their fishing gear against the 'uninvited.' They don't seem actually mean- in fact, they seem more nervous than anything. Let's gently disarm them, and try to find anyone that's willing to talk. A person that looks like a doctor is standing at the end of the dock, and there's a calmer looking man minding his business in the village. That's a good start.
The villagers want to toss us back into the Red Betty, and that doctor at the edge of the pier looks like she wants to dig her nails into your eyes. I don't think they're bad. A villager cut open one of the Shark Bait we caught to show me all the tentacles in its stomach, and made "ooOOo" noises. They just want to scare us away. Not hurt us. Well, good thing you knew the innkeeper. He's going to set a room up for Maya.

While the Seaview Innkeeper prepares a room for all of us to talk somewhere safer, how about we stroll the beach? Haha! I do wish I could be with Victoria, but I don't miss the etiquette at all. This isn't an excuse to slack off and swim, by the way. I noticed some weird looking rocks on the shore. We can take a ladder down there from the dock. Just be careful, we'll need to clear out those freaky eels before we go sightseeing.
Ick, Captain Rhubarb pointed the eels out when we were on the ship. They swarm around areas where large amounts of drowning occurred so they can eat the…leftovers. But I made you dangle me off the edge of the Red Betty to look for shipwrecks. The ocean just goes deeper and deeper, like a sheer fall off a cliff to nowhere. Brrr… I didn't see anything, but I got a bad chill up my spine.

Check out the Water Elementals. They don't look…clean. Not in a muddy or swampy sense, but their water is darker. Like they swam up from the bottom of the sea where all the dead things sink. They're gathering around those weird rocks in the rising tide. Can we clear them out? I have a bad feeling in my gut. It's making me sick, but pulling me towards the sea.
Pass that page over… there are trapped elves, hiding from intruders. But where? I don't see any sign of elves except for the rocks. You hear it too, don't you? If you really wrack your ears and block out the background noise…there's soft singing coming from these rocks. Could they have washed up on shore like this letter? And if so, how long ago? We need to go ask for help from Maya.

There's no sign of the other Champions. They either moved on or, with how secretive the villagers are being, are hidden somewhere. Then there's this torn journal page we found about Water Elves being in danger. But are they still in danger, or are they already…Maya should be at the inn. I need to ask her about this before I start panicking. We'll head to the inn, and keep the Fisherman from bothering us.
Psst, we got an eavesdropper staring over your shoulder. That guy's been looking at you ever since you walked in. Didn't notice until now, but he hasn't blinked at all. Actually, if I squint at him…We should go upstairs to see if the room's ready. Like, right now, this very second. Hurry, before - Oh shoot, shoot, shoot! He's coming over! Uhm, act natural! Let me be honest for a second, and I know not everyone is going to agree with me, but I think Neso got what was coming. She made her bed, and has to lay in it just like anyone else. But I am completely against how the Old Worlds Order butted in like that! You had it under control, and the annoying majority voted to tug the rug out from under us. There has to be more to this. The both of us should take a deeper look into the Voice in the Sea.
The more I think about how this all went down, the more suspicious I get about some of the members of the Old Worlds Order. Neso wouldn't have freaked out if they didn't go to the Avatars to scare them. She might not have gotten enough power to try absorbing Kathool if the dry old Leylines underneath the Base didn't swell wth Core Mana. Who has the power over the flow of Mana at the moment? The Old Worlds Order. We need to be very careful going forward.

Dr. Rivale and even a representative from the Legion are moving into the Temple! I heard they're going to set up on the Temple's second floor. Let's head upstairs to check out the new rooms.
Dr. Rivale's handling our infirmary, and General Rand is diving head first into paperwork over at the war room. I think we just stole the only literate Legionnaire Dage had on hand! A war room, though…that was there before we took over the temple. Were the paladins here preparing for a fight?

Warlic gave us excerpts from a book about Champions, and Aria organized them into a scrapbook. Could you help us pick some Rimeblossoms to decorate it with while we search for the necromancers? Talk to Aria and she'll show you the book.
We're here to learn anyway, right? It's not like we're in a rush for once. The fact that Champions are almost impossible for necromancers to raise is a big relief. I wonder if that's the same with me, or if I'll always be like this no matter what happens.

Oh, I just noticed the seal on the ground came back! We broke it before you arrived, but it froze back over! Security's pretty tight. Faeries regularly sneak in and out of the tomb. Collect Faerie Dust, cover your hands with it, and punch through the seal.
This would be a lot harder for people that aren't you and me, but I think Mueran already went to the lower floors. I don't like the idea of leaving a necromancer to their own devices…

Necroproff Mueran went deeper into the tomb by himself! I think I see undead minions down there! Beat them up, and make Mueran show proof that he wasn't the one that summoned them!
It's a lot creepier down here…At least the undead weren't Mueran's, so he isn't up to anything sneaky just yet. Wow, he found the notes left by his student so embarrassing that he didn't read them all the way through.
Items Required:
- Talk to Mueran x1
- Read Collusion Proof x1
- Read the Collusion Proof from Mueran

Do you think we could get to see Victoria earlier if we just knock? It’s so weird, I've never been this nervous to talk to my sister. Sure, I’ve stomped over to her room to complain about things, but this is different…Let’s check with Nialla. She's Vic's new Lady in Waiting.
No chance at all? Ugh, I guess we'll have to see her in the conference room with everyone else. It's starting soon anyway. If I start to lose my temper, hold me back. A little light show could make some of the nobles faint.

I want to hear all about what happened in Skye from you and big sis, but we should get Felix and Illaria settled in first! They… have a lot to deal with, and so do we. Let's check go check on them.
The Lightguard wanted Termina Temple back very badly because of what's under the floor. We need to keep it out of their hands, and keep Felix and Illaria safe. I'll ask Warlic if he needs help setting up a stronger barrier. I learned a lot while you were away!
