A Grave Mission

Requirements: Must be Level 20.

Darkovia is not the kind, friendly place that you are used to, traveler; hungry creatures are always watching… and waiting… beneath ever shadow. Your only hope at surviving an ambush is to know your surroundings as if it were second nature. Explore the entirety of the graveyard until you can walk the grounds with your eyes closed—more or less. When you are done exploring, head to the Mausoleum and pay homage to the first King of our kin. Return to me whenever you are ready for your next mission.

Lending a Helping Hand

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

Now that you have explored your surroundings, it is time to see what you are made of—other than flesh and bone, that is. These lands are flooded with many skeletons and scavengers, making any sort of trek in these parts tiresome and dangerous. If you wish to prove your worth, destroy the undead Skeletal Fire Mages. Bring me back 8 Scorched Metacarpals… if you do not meet their same fate, that is.

Bone Appetit

Although weak, the Rattlebones in the area are pests to both the Vampires and Lycans alike; these scavengers steal the kill of anything and anyone close by. We have greater problems to deal with at the moment, which is why I am asking you for help. Hunt down the Rattlebones to help diminish their never-satisfied constantly-expanding population. Return to me when you have 10 Rattlebone Mandibles.

Excellent work, traveler. Given time, we should be able to control the Rattlebones population and avoid a biological collapse.

Batting Cage

By now, you have seen the Albino Bats in the area, yes? These flying mammals are not native to the area—we have reason to believe they were introduced by Drow caravans as they made their way to the Dwarfhold Mountains. Regardless of how they got here, we need to remove them as soon as possible. Not kill them—just find them a new home. Bring me 6 Caged Albino Bats so that my people can relocate them to a safe place. You will have to knock them unconscious before you can cage these wild bats.

These bats will be much safer—and happier—elsewhere. I am glad to see that I can trust you with any sort of mission; this will make my kin very happy. Now, the final test awaits…

His Bark is Worse Than His Blight

Not much is known about the undead werewolf who calls himself Blightfang. He is a true brute to both the Vampires and Lycans, viciously attacking anything that moves, whether it his own kin or not. Blightfang must be stopped! Find the undead werewolf and show him just who the Alpha is—hopefully you, granted if you return in one piece. Bring me back Blightfang's Skull as indisputable proof of your success!

So you think you have what it takes to become a Shadowslayer? I want to believe you, really, I do — but I cannot put my full faith in someone who has yet to prove themselves to me. This is not the place nor the time for amateur adventurers… but I'll give ya one chance. Somewhere in Greenguard Forest resides a superior warrior known as Red Hunting Hood. She is an expert when it comes to hunting the creatures in those woods… and if you can convince her to lend you that Big Wolf Slaying Axe of hers, then you might have what it takes to help Darkovia out, afterall…

A Dire Situation

These lands are infested with carnivorous mammals known as Dire Wolves. Despite my best efforts to keep them at bay, the wolves keep multiplying, making safe travel impossible. An enemy of both the Lycan and the Vampire kin, the Dire Wolves need to be controlled one way… or another. You're going to be that other way; go forth and take out as many Dire Wolves as you can. Bring me back 8 Dire Pelts to prove that you were successful. Please hurry—we haven't much time…

Blood, Sweat, and Tears

Throughout your travels in Lore, I am sure that you've seen some pretty gross things. But nothing can compare to the Blood Maggots that plague these lands. A single Blood Maggot can kill an Alpha Lycan, devouring more blood than any Vampire family buffet. They are ruthless killers and will not be easily stopped. Bring me 3 Vials of Blood, 2 Vials of Sweat, and 1 Vial of Tears from these ruthless maggots, proving to me that you gave it your all.

Good work. I don't know where these maggots came from… but I am glad you gave it your all. Now only one more threat remains…

What a Lich!

Dire Wolves and Blood Maggots are nothing in comparison to the monstrosity lingering in the ancient Darkovian ruins. It is known by Lich of the Stone… a horrible arch lich empowered by the darkest force in Lore— the force known as Chaos. Its origin is unknown, and the longer it resides in Darkovia, the more dangerous it becomes. Defeat the Lich and bring me its book, the Necrompendium. Perhaps then we can both understand its motives… and perhaps then you will understand why I became a Shadowslayer in the first place…

Have you seen the village outside my castle? That is where I keep the herd. They normally go about their lives and when I feed I tend to leave the mortal alive to keep the blood flowing… but recently Blood Maggots have started cutting into my supply leaving my mortals completely drained. Defeat 8 Blood Maggots and bring me their denture as proof of their defeat.

Going Batty

The Albino Bats that live in this area have been frightened by the Lycan invasion. I need you to knock some out and apply this soothing salve to them. You should only need to soothe 6 Albino Bats for the others to follow. Careful, the salve doesn't always work.

Lycan Knights

The Werewolf King has sent several of his Lycan Knights into my realm. I can only assume this is the latest attempt to take more of our land from us. Go out and defeat the Lycan Knights and bring me 4 Lycan Ears as trophies.

The Queen has always sent her Vampire Knights into our lands to drive us out and take it for themselves, but these Vampire Knights stink of madness… of Chaos. Destroy 10 Chaos Vampire Knights to prove your loyalty to the pack.

Father Woods tells us that there is a Chaos Vampire General in his woods, twisting everything that he touches. Wolfwing must have sent this creature to keep our hands full while he… never mind. I will tell you if you complete this last task. Destroy Sanguine and return here with his Mask as proof.

The Key is the Key!

Another layer of security! Wolfwing is the king of paranoia town, I guess. It has some sort of Chaos spell on it and it needs a password to activate the key! One of the Werepyre minions must know the password. Defeat werepyres until you find the password to activate the key!

After defeating the Dracowerepyre, Z will send you to fight Wolfwing. After defeating him, you will watch a cutscene, and be given a choice to either spare him, or kill him. Depending on which side you're on (Good or Evil), your character will act differently. This ends the Darkovia Chapter.
