Hi, Hero! I've come all the way from Falconreach to help Yulgar run his Inn. He needed my help, and then get hired on the Kid to sweep up. He's like my little brother: when he grows up, he wants to be a Hero just like you!

Welcome back! I hope your Frostval's been exciting. How about taking a breather? You're just in time to join us for caroling and gift wrapping. Hans and I are organizing routes through the neighborhood for the carolers. When they return, we have a gift-wrapping workshop for everyone to join in. There'll be cocoa and thank-you presents for helping us deliver a happy Frostval to Battleon.
Caroling
Head through the arch and explore town. If you go too far, you'll end up at the house of a fellow adventurer, and there's a chance you'll run into a monster. Make sure it isn't a pet, and fight the monster off. The owner of the home will be grateful for your help and your cheery song! If you happen to find any gift-wrapping supplies while you're out there, could you bring them back? The workshop has been so popular that we're running low on supplies.
Gifts
We have a gift-wrapping workshop to help wrap presents. I'm surprised at how popular it became! Then again, you're all so busy keeping Battleon safe that there's no time to figure out how to wrap a gift. Even though the patchwork tape and odd ribbons are adorable, I'm happy to give pointers. We're running low on crafting supplies so if you happen to find any, come back and trade them in for the gear we have saved in the back.
Family
I spend Frostval with Yulgar and Aria. Hans usually travels home to Falconreach for the holidays, but he decided to stay to keep us company. That was very sweet of him! And if you'd like, our doors are always open to you too. Aria would love to see you and it would cheer Yulgar right up! Warm moglinberry juice, glazed ham, buttery mashed potatoes, and a plum pudding to go along with the gift giving. I'll save you a chair at our table.

Upon seeing our Hero, Serenity noticed how anxious they were, and gave them a big hug. "Were you outside just now? After we round up the last of the gifts, I'll get you a warm bowl of chowder. They even have sparkling juice in the cellar. It'll be a secret treat!"

"Queen Victoria and Lord Henry invited me to introduce my cooking to the royal court. It's such an honor! I made crustless chicken pot pie, garlic butter mashed potatoes, turkey with all the fixings, fresh baguettes to pair with a pot of ragu, and —" She kept listing one dish after another, driving me crazy with jealousy! "It's so nice of them to give me a chance to get the Inn some attention. I had to go all out!"

"Miss Tara asked me what the thirty utensils on her table setting were for, and I gave her a crash course! Some of the Nobles mistook me for one of them, and I waltzed so they wouldn't get embarrassed. Where did I learn all of this? I'm not sure. I don't remember anything before Yulgar and Aria took me in. I wonder —" Serenity lost her train of thought, but that didn't matter. If she doesn't remember it, then it wasn't important.

"The Alteons are the royal family, and then you have noble houses named Vaughn, Taylor, Cavendish, Granville, Harley, and Reignolds. That's strange. I think there were more. I'll recognize landmarks when I see them. Please, trust me! I want to help you."

We couldn't evacuate the non-combatant residents of Battleon, but I have them taking shelter in the largest cellars we could find. The defenders are guarding them, so you can concentrate on fighting off the invaders! We're counting you and,…ah, I feel like there's something I need to tell you. I just can't remember exactly what it was. Something about…whispers. If these things try to whisper to you, plug your ears. Don't let them in…

Rhody lives next door at the end of this road. Warlic explained that he would have to use something as a magic battery or strike a deal with a monster to be able to wipe us out. That means he must be powerful or have a horrible creature in his home. Be careful. I have a bad feeling about this but I'll wait here with Carmelita and keep her safe. Please, thank Warlic for being so thoughtful and lending us his staff.

To think, I was able to go on an adventure with you and Warlic right at home. But I would never wish more trouble on Battleon. You're juggling fifty problems for us a day. And I'd be tuckered out from all that running and danger, but it's Mogloween! The festivities gave me a bounce to my step, and so did you. We have a lot of trick-or-treating to do but once the moon sets, visit the inn and share your stories. We'll be missing you.

Yulgar's Inn sees locals, Guardians, Knights, and adventurers from all over. With how our town connects so many roads, we tend to see repeat visitors. I do my best to remember their preferences, and I'm excited to see how they're doing. That's why I could tell that Carmelita wasn't doing well when she stopped visiting. Maybe I should have visited or told someone that I had a bad feeling. I'll remember to do that next time.Ester
Madam Ester is such a polite Lady and loves holidays like Mogloween. She didn't realize her slime was getting everywhere and borrowed a mop to clean up her trail. While we had tea together, Madam Ester mentioned that she was a greater decay spirit local to our forests. The local lesser decay spirits attend to her. Other territories could have a different Being in charge. That goes for many aspects of Lore. It was really interesting!
Memories
Did Warlic mention that I have no memories of my childhood? In my dreams, I hear voices and footsteps but nothing concrete. It's like I'm stuck in a box, hiding from something. Not knowing what those dreams mean doesn't bother me. I remember how sullen I was when I arrived at the inn. Nothing was hurting me - that was just how I was before Yulgar and Aria took me in. This is my home now. I don't need to look back.

"Queen Victoria's recovering, and she'll join you when you're ready to pull back those curtains. Don't worry about me. I'll keep an eye out. The people who attacked me back at Castle Whistler… they have to be waiting for the right time to strike." Serenity peers into the dark, and footsteps scatter in different directions. If they have the nerve to make a move, I'll drop a piano on them.
Assailant
"Someone stabbed me in the back with one of those green arrows. It didn't make sense to me, because by then the Queen had already been taken away." The innkeeper rubbed her temples, struggling to picture the attackers. "There was something wrong with their faces, too. I thought they put a blindfold on me at first, because they were completely obscured. No matter how much I try, I can't remember what they looked like."
Injuries
"I was stabbed by that arrow, and for a moment, I really thought I was going to bleed out," She shivered, hugging her shoulders. "That is, until we reached this Necropolis. The moment I stepped inside, it stopped hurting. I even checked my shoulder and the wound was completely healed. There's a small scar, but I'm fine otherwise. Don't worry about me. I've been through worse…Have I?" Serenity…you don't have to think about it.
Memories
"I mentioned my memory loss before," Serenity began…Battleon is your home now. You have Yulgar, Aria, and Hans. What you've forgotten isn't important enough to remember. "I'm perfectly happy where I am now. A home, family, friends - that's everything I need. But, the past will come knocking some day. Shouldn't I be prepared when the day comes? Besides, my friends will protect me. Our Heroes won't let me down. I know it."

"Oh!" Serenity was startled by our Hero's sudden approach. "Don't mind me. I'm just having a chat with our lovely Narrator here." Haha! Lovely? Me? "You've definitely visited the Inn before, so hurry and come again!" I really wish I could. Hey…is there anything you want to know before I go? "Do I have a family?" Yes…a brother. "Hm, I…a little baby…the size of a melon…he punched walls if he didn't get to eat cupcakes." HUH????.

Yulgar's Inn Band Promoter
We've been running the Inn for a while, and decided it's time for a change! That's right - live music! You need to change things up now and again to keep the customers happy. Our house band is the NPCs, but we will also have Guest Bands!

We decided the best way to keep customers happy is to offer live music! The house band - The NPCs - have a permanent spot on stage in the heart of the Inn, unless a guest band wants to play! We've already got our first band all lined up!
