I thought it was strange that the nearby corn was left untouched, but there's something very wrong with it. Let's inspect those cursed cobs for more clues, and talk to that local boy over there. Maybe he knows something about what's happened to this place.

You want to invite the villagers to a feast? Good idea - that'll encourage them to come out, and hopefully, learn to share. Go ahead and gather the ingredients, and then set things up in the Town Hall: it's empty, so we'll use it as the venue.

It's really the thought that counts, and you can't be choosy if there's nothing else to eat. Umm, can I hit the soup until it stops moving?

One of the villagers who came out to see the feast wants to talk to us. Miriam says their Mayor is acting strange and hoarding a huge amount of grain for himself. We should talk to her and see what she has to share.

Just like I thought! The famine is supernatural, and the gold scales the Mayor found are connected to it. King Alteon should have looked into this, but he and his nobles are holed up safe in his castle.

Balancing Crumbs

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

In times of famine, scales are used to measure grain, but the mayor has a surplus. The villagers say that he's a reasonable and kind man. He began acting strange after finding those golden scales. We're going to confiscate them.

This village was going to survive the famine, so an outside influence personally meddled to sow greed. They must be nearby.

Harrowing Hike

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

The monsters descending from the mountain are some sort of undead! We'll follow their tracks to find the source! Stay close to me and be careful!

This should be the place. A cave perfect for a sorcerer to hatch an evil plan undisturbed. Ugh, the smell…it's like walking into a cold crypt.

Down the Grapevine

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

There's a man nearby, Oishii, and I don't think it's the famine that's making him look skeletal. Wait… you want to talk to him? Alright, I guess, but I'll be right here in case he tries anything.

What did you two talk about? A guy who rides a horse and has an inferiority complex? Wait, does he have the complex, or does the horse? I'm confused… but that tip about the locusts being able to eat until they pop could be useful.

Hungry Hive

The locusts are using this cave as a hive! Now that we have a better idea about what we're up against, we can hunt them, and figure out a way to bring the whole nest down!

Shoot, typical poisons don't work, and it takes a while for them to pop from overeating. Rounding up more help is going to take too long. I'll have to take the summoner behind this out myself.

This rider fellow claiming to be Famine itself is using this mountain as a hive for the monsters they've been summoning. He's the source of this supernatural blight! We'll cull his familiars, find him, and bring an end to this.

The people of Greenguard have weathered tyranny and the inaction of the nobles meant to protect them. They'll suffer no longer! I'll bring this evil sorcerer down!

We've got even more guests on the way. We're going to need MORE FOOD! I've got to keep the peace here. Can you go out hunting and bring back fodder for the feast table? Meaty legs from the Tantalocusts, the grass from the Fear Gorta's backs, and of the spice Famine uses to scent his robes. Thank you!
