«Scene: Mariel, in her dragon form, in the void»

Mariel: Ah, <Hero>. I thought I might see you again.
Mariel: This is about the egg you found, if I am not mistaken?

Hero: Yes. It is.

Mariel: And you know what it is. The egg of the last Manticore.
Mariel: The natural enemy of all dragons, which one almost le to our extinction.

Hero: …yes?

Mariel: And yet you want to see the species brought back to life. Why?

+ Didn't I just kill 7 deadly dragons? Why do you THINK I want it back?

Hero: I recently helped Galanoth slay seven dragon who were terrorizing the lands around them.
Hero: Without a natural predator to keep their numbers down, dragons are a danger to Lore.

Mariel: You seek the extinction of my species?
Mariel: I am sure you understand why I cannot allow that to happen.

Hero: No!
Hero: …maybe? I don't know.
Hero: Maybe I'm just introducing more monsters into the world.
Hero: But you kept that egg safe for a reason. Didn't you?

Mariel: Yes. I did.
Mariel: Although the manticore may be our enemy, I am a dragon of creation and life. I could not have the death of a species on my conscience.
Mariel: Keeping this egg safe allowed me to prevent that from happening.
Mariel: Its chest could only be opened if all seven keyholders agreed, and that was their way of keeping our own species safe.
Mariel: But the last manticore would still exist. Maybe it's time for them to live again.

+ I don't want to see ANY species go extinct

Hero: The egg is the last of its kind.
Hero: I understand that its existence poses a danger to dragons, as a species.
Hero: But it isn't right for the manticore to go extinct, either.
Hero: Both species deserve the right live.

Mariel: I understand. That is why I wouldn't allow the other dragons to destroy this last egg.
Mariel: Although the manticore may be our enemy, I am a dragon of creation and life. I could not have the death of a species on my conscience.
Mariel: Keeping this egg safe allowed me to prevent that from happening.
Mariel: Its chest could only be opened if all seven keyholders agreed, and that was their way of keeping our own species safe.
Mariel: But the last manticore would still exist.
Mariel: You are benevolent Hero, and your intentions are pure.
Mariel: If you have chosen to hatch this egg, then perhaps it is time. I will help you.
