Searchlights

I would have preferred to usher you to Balemorale's most important rooms of note, but we're already being tailed. The Lightguard's Paladins are following us. I would have included them if they weren't worshiping that overgrown candle. If you would, make them leave us be.

They were taking notes? Their upper echelons have become more…pragmatic, but these new recruits forget that they literally glow. I doubt the Queen will do anything about them. They can excuse their behavior by saying they're "on the lookout for Shadows."

Queensmen

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

There are more eyes on us than I thought there'd be, so let's cut to the chase. I want to investigate what's beneath this castle. One of the Nobles' Knights should have a key to the cellar. Ask each of them to spar, and shake the key out of them. They'll be too excited to notice.

The key was on one of Granville's Knights. That family became close to the Queen, and are allowed privileges other nobles can only dream of. Lady Nialla Granville was Princess Brittany's Lady in Waiting before she became the Queen's. Her father must be pleased.

Cellar Secrets

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

I managed to catch Lord Brentan before he slipped out of the castle. Find him, and let him know that there are secrets in the cellar. He'll believe your words over mine. I've asked him to meet us at the cellar's entrance. It's through the door near where Astero and his ilk are congregating.

Lord Brentan's theory is correct. My subjects noticed that some of the Queen's personal Knights were guarding a blond woman with spectacles as she surveyed Chiral Valley. She told those knights to bring her research back to Balemorale, and to mind the "Vessel."

Chaotic Roots

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

The cellar is infested with spiders, but the items the Queen had her Court Mages store here have been…Chaorrupted. We need to eliminate them, and keep them from harming Lady Song and Lady Marigold. I've invited them to our investigation, and they have information to share with you.

I expected the worst, but we should be relieved. The Queen is recruiting mages knowledgeable with Chaos in order to find a way to permanently destroy it. The spiders are just their lab rats. While it is dangerous, what else can we do to ensure the safety of Greenguard? I can respect this.

Eroding Era

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

We can't get deeper or collect the books we need to further understand what the Queen is doing unless we secure the cellar. There are Chaos Crystals that could injure or even infect us if we're not careful. Shatter them and collect the shards.

+ When Completed

The crystals crumble to pieces with very little tampering. This isn't what they were like when the Chaos Lords were active. Maybe the Queen doesn't need her Mages to conduct such dangerous research. Chaos is so feeble now, even an inexperienced squire could handle them.

Old Wolf

Lady Song and Lady Marigold can decipher the research records. I would feel more at ease if you knew exactly what the Queen is up to. Take a look at that book on the desk as well. It looks like it was penned by a commoner instead of a scholar.

Knowledge can save us from ignorance, but it can't save us from pain…Oh, I was just talking to myself. These records brought up memories of my own family. You seem reluctant to share what was in that journal. If you wish to keep the contents from me, I will reign in my curiosity.

Abandoned Cradle

There's…something slumped against the wall at the far end of the cellar. It's been burned and crushed, but I can tell that it's made of flesh. You're saying it's a "Vessel?" The Spiders and Crystals are crawling all over it. We should clear them away, and investigate the "Vessel."

Are you alright? Sit down, your knees are wobbling. We've spent too much time down here. Let's return and get you a glass of water. We've discovered more than enough to…do you hear that? The sound of blades clashing above. What's happening up there?

Shockwaves

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

There are screams coming from above. There's a dumbwaiter at the back wall of the cellar. Use it to get up to the ground floor. If I'm hearing right, it's the Skye Warriors. They're fighting with the Knights and Paladins. Hurry and capture some. We need to find out what's going on.

Queen Victoria has been kidnapped? How is that possible? Balemorale is being guarded by both the Knights and the Lightguard! Worthless, all of them! I'll work on getting the noncombatants to safety, and join your search for the Queen as soon as possible.

Sleight of Hand

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

The castle has been thrown into utter disarray. For some reason, the Knights and Paladins couldn't stop the Queen from being taken. Skye's Warriors are trying to kidnap other Nobles to take as hostages. Save as many of the remaining nobles as you can, and locate the Queen!

+ When Completed

The Queen has been cursed by Lieber, the Emissary from Skye. Muusa sent us a warning. Do not let Lieber touch you. He took control of the Queen with a handshake… You're pale again. Is this man familiar to you?

Double Fianchetto

The Queen has been put under some sort of curse by the Emissary of Skye, Lieber. He has control of her movements, and promises to stop her heart if you attack him. Don't let Lieber have the satisfaction of seeing us give up. Try everything you can to free the Queen!
