Retired Airship Pilot
We didn't get to formally meet at the cabin. That's one of my many current regrets. A dangerous wind storm raged for a month while we were plagued with disease. Food and medical supplies were running low with little hope of contacting the outside. I didn't know Valencia would brave the storm so I resorted to casting a spell we found in these ruins - A spell meant to relieve us of our burdens.

Holle's Meal
So my son shared the tale with you. It recounts a spell to call on those who ride the wind - The Sluagh. Lay out bread and crushed berries on a white pelt to call the Mistress of the Sluagh to relieve your burdens. The girl in that story, too sick to work, was herself a burden and was spirited away. I did not realize this until it was too late.

The Sluagh
Though they're faeries, their forest kin fear them. The cave we're standing in was carved out by the Sluagh. This is a feasting hall where that army of hunters drag in their prey alive, to skin and devour. They tended to kidnap worthy warriors, infecting them with a thirst for violence and the thrill of the chase.

Leaders
There are clues that there were several leaders of the Sluagh through the centuries. This constant change of leadership often shifts the purpose of the hunts. The parchment I found about Holle's Meal is a more recent record. That means the act of ‘relieving burdens' is unique to their current leader. We must learn more before they arrive to take our families.

After completing the 'Corvus Mellori' quest:

Retired Airship Pilot
I should have never even glanced at that awful spell! Valencia and Trissa laid down their lives for us and I've added to their suffering. If only Trey were here. We've had our disagreements but he would have kept his composure. He'd have a plan. Ah, there's no use dwelling on things that won't happen. We'll do whatever we can to help you and the Surehunters fight the Sluagh.
