Gravelyn (NPC)

Shadowscythe Empress
I owe you a great deal. Both for reuniting me with my father, even for just a moment, and for putting up with Leech Queen Safiria over there. There are too many things I want to talk about. I doubt I’ll get to everything so go ahead and rush back to us. I haven’t forgotten that this is a competition to gain your favor. I plan to win. After all, who else but the Empress of the Shadowscythe is best suited to solve your problems?

Motivation
The invitation sounded like a joke to me. I almost tossed the card but then I received word that many were accepting the call. Turning the invitation down meant admitting defeat. If someone else won, you’d be stuck with a bore or a freak too. My father being here was a welcome surprise. That being said, my main goal is rescuing you. Forget about any worries you may have. I could rescue you in my sleep.

Tournament
You are a popular person. Very popular. It’s just a statement, I don’t mean anything by it. Warriors, scholars, even Queen Victoria met me in battle. All fought tooth and nail to be here but I prevailed. I’d be insulted if you expected anything less from me. That’s it. The fights were a bloody affair. Why are you so curious about boring details? The competition isn’t over yet. I still need to win.

Competitors
Father is my main competitor. He is the Doomknight. The man who raised the Shadowscythe to its greatest height. I don’t blame you for being a bit interested, though I don’t plan to go easy on him. It’s our way of bonding. As for Safiria, I’m far from worried but I will give her credit. She’s a professional actress. Give her a closer look and you can tell she’s exhausted from her battles. A gust of wind will do her in.

After completing the 'Four Princesses' quest:

Weak
Don’t look down on me. The water hasn’t melted me and the hallucinations aren’t showing me anything new. When we get in the cave, don’t hog that monster all to yourself. How dare it think it can peer into my mind. The Empress of the Shadowscythe is not swayed so easily by things that could never happen. I am not weak. I am not weak…

Shadowscythe Empress
What that monster showed me wasn’t new. I’ve wondered what my father’s life would have been like if he chose a different path. A path without me. That thought led to the idea that my father would be happier if I was never born. But like you said, there’s no use thinking about a life that could never be. The time I got to spend with him is irreplaceable. As is my time with you? Heh, despite it all, I had a little fun.
