Would anybody oppose a formatting change for classes?
I propose a table for skills/abilities. Including any passives. Rank them by levels so you can see what you are getting and when. All relevant data (description, cooldowns, MPs, etc.) included.
For example, this might be the table for Dragonslayers:
Level | Ability | MP | Cooldown | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Bane of The Scale | 2 | 16 seconds | Forces a dragon to focus its attacks on you, while reducing the dragon's damage dealt with all attacks by 30%. (lasts 10 seconds) |
1 | Impale | 6 | 12 seconds | Causes 200% of weapon damage over 12 seconds with a chance of stunning the target for 3 seconds. |
2 | ||||
3 | ||||
4 | Scortched Steel | 4 | 6 seconds | A fiery attack dealing 150% weapon damage. |
5 | ||||
6 | Critical Restoration (passive) | Regain 5 MP per critical hit to enemy. | ||
7 | ||||
8 | Talon Twisting | 3 | 12 seconds | While active, 30% of damage done to you by dragons will be added to your attacks. Last 8 seconds. |
9 | Damage Restoration (passive) | Regain 1 MP per hit taken. | ||
10 |
…we need names for the passive skills. :)
Still, it helps tabulate the abilities, helps point out where various information is still needed, and keeps things more or less the same for all the classes. Plus, once the table is set up, it's pretty easy to cut & paste onto new classes.
Thoughts?
While this would be very helpful, I think that the Wiki is only for Locations, Prices and Sellbacks, Looks, and Descriptions. Otherwise, I think that the staff would have already added in the skills.
But don't take my word for it, I have no idea if the staff will want to do it; so pm one of them on the forums or in here.
@Nightly: There is nothing there (save cooldowns) that isn't from the Encyclopedia or wiki. The staff, as far as I can tell, took the information directly from there.
@wpack10: I'm hesitant to delete the empties simply because things may change, and it makes it much easier to cut & paste if you leave them in. Especially if they change how different classes earn new skills. Remember: We have a rebalance for classes coming up…
@StJason
Though Burn already posted a thread like that, the table is a marvelous idea! ^^
@ wpack10
StJason is quite right because new skills may arrive…
Even though it would probably be quite helpful, classes are still quite basic. We need to see where we stand after they have become more "advanced".
So how about a 'hybrid' then? Playing with wikistuff, it's pretty easy to put a new line in/out:
Level | Ability | MP | Cooldown | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Bane of The Scale | 2 | 16 seconds | Forces a dragon to focus its attacks on you, while reducing the dragon's damage dealt with all attacks by 30%. (lasts 10 seconds) |
1 | Impale | 6 | 12 seconds | Causes 200% of weapon damage over 12 seconds with a chance of stunning the target for 3 seconds. |
4 | Scortched Steel | 4 | 6 seconds | A fiery attack dealing 150% weapon damage. |
6 | Critical Restoration (passive) | Regain 5 MP per critical hit to enemy. | ||
8 | Talon Twisting | 3 | 12 seconds | While active, 30% of damage done to you by dragons will be added to your attacks. Last 8 seconds. |
9 | Damage Restoration (passive) | Regain 1 MP per hit taken. |
All the info, no blanks.
