He is a dullahan - a headless spirit that appears during feasts and harvests, bringing only death. But your task has naught to do with the gold I'm getting from Oishii, mind you…
Wretched Rider
Such a dark creature is one to behold! He rode through the land reaping the souls of those he condemned, and nothing could stop his terrible desire…when he was alive! After his demise, The Wretched Rider came back as a dullahan, a spirit of death and despair. All who tried to resist his grasp were wiped out.
But not us. We won‘t be. You’ll be totally safe, for I have a plan!A Plan?
Yes! For I know the Rider’s weakness - goldl All dullahan have an intense aversion to it. It's said that if you throw a gold coin on the road while one chases you, it will vanish in fear! Perhaps that is how we can slay it - with a weapon made of pure gold.
Of course, we’ll have to disguise it so the Rider can't TELL that it's gold. But that's the easy part.

My name is Ergotth. I once explored these lands as a Loremaster, but long ago a cursed artifact trapped me in shadows. For eternity I have lingered in the dark, but I still seek all the secrets and wonders of Lore. But now, as I have lost my physical form, I rely on intrepid adventurers such as you to assist me!

Are you ready, Hero? You've gathered the gold, and had it forged into the most wondrous of blades! You've hidden its glory behind a coat of mud, and now you’re ready to face the our most deadly foe - the Wretched Rider! Let me know when you are ready, and I will transport you to him through the shadows.
