There's no reason to risk our lives in the Abyss right now. The /MidnightZone needs attention first.

Thanks to you, Dage the Evil has full control of Seabase Undine. At the moment, I do mean that genuinely. We may be at his mercy, but I prefer it that way if the Base is shielded from Kathool's influence. During Dage's takeover, Sparagmos' fuel lines and communications with Dr. Noelle were severed. We need to traverse the Abyssal Zone to reconnect the fuel. Everyone's survival depends on it. Then, I need to speak to Dr. Noelle.
Abyss
The Abyssal Zone of Sea Base Undine is a deadly environment. It only serves to contain the fuel needed to power Sparagmos. As a consequence, little to no reconstruction has been done to the structures. It remains mostly untouched since the days the Ashray Water Elves roamed the halls. I'm not sure when the Elves disappeared. When I first arrived, there was no trace of them in the accessible areas of the Abyss.
Kathool
Kathool has awakened, but its attention and psychic attacks are forced to primarily focus on Dage because of Sparagmos. We seem to be in a stable position, but the Base has never faced Kathool fully conscious before. It isn't angry. In fact, it's amused and toying with us. Kathool stuck its tentacles in the Abyssal Zone, blocking off pathways and breaking down walls. I believe it's leading us somewhere, and it has to do with the Ashray Water Elves.
Noelle
Dr. Noelle heard of my history from the Queen, and welcomed my family with open arms. I believe she saw herself in me. We both committed terrible crimes and seek forgiveness, though she was extorted by the dead tyrant, Dethrix Drakath. I murdered innocents willingly, and failed my father, Darkon. I was motivated to go above and beyond to repay Dr. Noelle's kindness…but she never extended that kindness to the other researchers.

Ugh… I'm shouldering the weight of Kathool's psychic attacks with Dage, but it's only enough to give him some room to think. Kathool created that… amalgamation… of Water Elf remains to speak through- and mentally torture us. Destroy it, or at least hold it off until we regain control of the situation. I've been practicing to eventually become hooked to Sparagmos, but I'm- argh - not going to last long!

The Avatar of Water, Neso, is trying to dissolve and absorb Kathool to take its power. Kathool will either retaliate or spectate. We are up against both. For now, we'll just put aside the fact that Swordhaven was given the Temple of Water by the Jus Divinum after they wiped out all of the Water Elves living there. Prepare yourself. We're going to the Trench Observation Deck at the bottom of the sea to find Dr. Noelle and confront Kathool.

Former Astravian
The amount of displeasure I have seeing you here is unfathomable, but I'll maintain professionalism. Depending on what your reasons for being here are, I'll even kick you out in a submarine instead of making you swim. Stay right there and don't make trouble. I need to follow the proper protocols to enter the Sunlight Reception. My colleagues must be sure that I'm the real Song and not an illusion.
Sea Base
Sea Base Undine is a research facility funded by the Swordhaven Crown. Experts from all over the country are called here, and are able to work in the safety of secrecy. Prolonged stays used to be dangerous, but Astravian tech has greatly improved the safety of the base and its medical advancements. I imagine that's all going to be ruined the moment you step inside.
Ashray
I hope your braindead antics didn't harm the Ashray Villagers. They were entrusted by the Queen with keeping the base a secret, and helped move resources down here to keep us running. The newer villagers are the family members of the experts who arrived to work for the greater good. Fa and Mi are supposed to be living up on the surface too but I'm glad they managed to avoid running into you.
Kathool
Any and all information about that subject is restricted. Your name might be scribbled on Dr. Mostyma's invitation, but only the head researcher and I have access. Though you did guess correctly. That thing is here, and the situation is under control. It currently slumbers, and whatever influence it exerts in its sleep is repelled by the base's defenses. The creature slipping into the duck was a fluke.
- Enter the Base
Vice Head Researcher
In exchange for allowing you to meet the Champions in Sea Base Undine's medical facilities, you will help strengthen our defenses. That's it. Kathool is under control - a very delicate control that will get ruined if you get tangled in its tentacles. Queen Victoria trusted me with keeping the Base and the people inside safe. That's a promise I intend to keep. Now you, Tara, and Dr. Mostyma can follow me.
Sunlight
This is the Sunlight Zone, a newly built floor at the top of Seabase Undine. Here, we receive experts invited by the Crown, their visiting families, and supplies. Sunlight is able to reach this deep, and I encourage our staff to spend their free hours in the artificial gardens. The facilities are meant to maintain their physical and mental health. We do everything we can to make it feel like a home away from home.
Family
Asking about my family? As in the few that you didn't get killed?…No, I accept what happened, and that what I have done will have no hope of being forgiven. Fa and Mi had very little to do with what happened in Astravia. They have found a new home in Greenguard, and friends that care about them. They're finally happy and safe. I'll sacrifice anything to keep it that way.
Security
Seabase Undine is protected by the best spells and technology Greenguard has to offer. Our presence is shrouded by a strong magical barrier and cloaking technology. To protect ourselves against Kathool's influence, a pre-existing security system was enhanced with both Skyguard and Astravian science. The result was System Sparagmos, which guards our minds from psychic attacks.

After completing the 'Plugging Leaks' quest:
Vice Head Researcher
Sparagmos, the technology Undine relies on to protect its staff from Kathool's psychic contamination, needs to be rebooted. Without it, the sea life near the Base flies into a frenzy, and we're subjected to visual and auditory hallucinations. We need to hold off the creatures that broke in long enough for the researchers and their families to get into the panic rooms. Follow my instructions exactly!

Most of the intruders have been eliminated, easing the strain off of System Sparagmos. I'm getting reports that the hallucinations are subsiding, but it revealed a new danger. A large elemental is trying to break into the floor below, the Twilight Zone where the Champions are. I've allowed you access to the room connecting the floors. Do what you do best; destroy it before it causes more harm.

Hopefully, another incident like this won't happen for at least a week. The safe periods between incidents are shrinking. Just leave that to me. This concerns the safety of my family. I'll look into how Sparagmos is holding up…How it's functioning, I mean.

After completing the 'Together as One' quest:
Vice Head Researcher
We've reached the Trench Observation Deck, the very bottom of Seabase Undine and the ocean. My main objective is to find Dr. Noelle and make her relinquish any control she has left of the base - as well as all of Sparagmos' data. We should run into Dr. Ganx, or rather, Xang, on the way. Your mission is far harder… Negotiating with Kathool. If that falls through, I have another plan. Be prepared to grab Fa and run.
Trench
The Trench Observation Deck used to be where Seabase Undine's personnel developed Swordhaven's new arsenal. That changed when Kathool found its way into the deep sea trench nearby and fell into a slumber. We now know it was lured here by the Water Elf songs embedded in their Temple. Since then, Dr. Noelle remained here to observe it. I wonder if she was studying its slow death, and seeing if it could be done with others like it…
A.I.
Dage is an even bigger braggart up close. If someone makes an accomplishment, he has to do the same, but three times better. I see why so many people have come to despise him, and why so many flock to his Legion. He created three A.I. identities to replace Brittany's - Circe, Chrysoar, Lycegenes, and a fourth on standby named Orpheus. They're able to hold off Kathool's influence entirely, for now. Kathool may just be playing with us.
Swordhaven
We all discovered that the Jus Divinum wiped out the Water Elves and gave their Temple of Water to Queen Victoria. They funded the building of Sea Base Undine over top of it, as well as the rebuilding of Swordhaven itself. If the sea calms, you have to go to the Queen. You're the only one that can. Find out if she was in the dark about the Elves, or if she knew all along. I sincerely hope that the good I saw in the Queen was real.

After completing the 'Enemy in Need' quest:

Dr. Noelle has taken to consuming parts of Kathool's body. I believe this is a recent development. Her plan to eliminate Dage by draining him with Sparagmos has failed, and we're slowly closing in on her. Dabbling in forbidden chaotic magic might allow her some control, but nothing good can come out of ingesting that creature. The path ahead is open. We have to get out there and find her as soon as possible.

Dr. Noelle… she hasn't changed much since we last met in person. Until we could find treatments through our research and earn forgiveness from the Queen, this was where she would stay.
