Slay 13 of the monsters in Doomwood to investigate the nature of the taint, and bring back any unusual objects you find.

Oh… my. These bones are dripping with solidified shadows. How… interesting! The power of darkness is certainly growing stronger. But this is not quite what I am searching for.

Seek the Dark Scroll

Deep in the heart of the Temple, there is a Dark Scroll that may countain information which will help us. I would never survive the journey, but you… Bring it to me, please!

Ah, yes… This IS helpful… Look, do you see? The Darkness can be enhanced if an Umbral emulsifier is introduced into the shadow matrix. How interesting!

Recover an Umbral Orb

There is… I believe there is MORE text on this scroll. I can sense it, but cannot quite make it out. If I had an Umbral Orb, it would shed light (heh) on the ink… enough to make it out. Go to Dark Sepulchure's lair and take one from him.

Aaaaah, yes. You have done VERY well to bring me this. And just in time. That HUGE blast you just felt? The taint has penetrated one of Vordred's skulls… you must hurry, and recover it before the rest are infected. There are SO MANY!

Bring Back Vordred's Skull

Defeat Vordred and return to the Dark Loremaster with Vordred's Tainted Skull to complete this quest… then return next Friday, October 16th to begin the Artix Entertainment 13th Anniversary event!

Mercury Elixir

There IS a way to read this, but it will not be easy. You will need to bring me the Mercury Elixir, a treasure for any Alchemist. But beware, many have died, or have been twisted, to protect this secret. This is not a quest for the tender of heart or spirit. Find The Lost One. He unrests deep below the start of your journey.

Did the Lost One… say anything to you? No, wait - I don't want to know. He was… the son of a friend. He vowed to protect his father's treasure when the Infernals attacked Swordhaven. It saddens me that you have completed the quest. But perhaps he - Gandry - will finally be at peace. Darkness keep him, for the Light certainly couldn't.
