Dage is brimming with confidence, and has taken his minions with him to march into Drakath's fortress. Let him. If there are any ambushes waiting, Dage can take it in the chin. For now, scout, and report back to us with anything suspicious. Victoria also wanted to talk to you, as did the Empress. I would rather you didn't speak with the Empress for very long…she's shirking her duties as Champion. Who does she think she is?
What did you talk about with them? …I see, you spoke on private matters. The more pressing issue is that the entrance to Crownsreach's fortress is locked tight, and Dage is nowhere to be found. It wouldn't make sense for him to seal the door behind him. You mentioned before that Malgor was able to absorb the Avatar Fiamme's powers? What if he is planning to do the same here?

We may be in crisis but Malgor's forces seem to be spread thin. Most are converging in Crownsreach but the rest are all across the continent spreading wanton havoc. It's forcing all of our allies to divide their attention to do damage control. While we search for a way to get the door open, I want to see who Malgor brought with him to steal the Queen of Monsters' Heart. Fight his minions and bring a few of them back.
These warriors were scavenged from our allies! That monster Malgor took the fallen and injured from the battlefields to use as his army. But why? Shouldn't he have taken his elites with him? I also expected our stolen infantry to put up a tougher fight. They're bursting with mana, likely from Malgor's newfound control over the Mana core…but it's causing more injury to them than actually being of any help.

The state of the undead and soldiers Malgor forced to fight for him are curious. He has control of the Mana Core and these fighters are bursting with magical energy. They should have been difficult to fight but are being torn to shreds by their own power. Their wounds…It's as if they're suffering from the same symptoms I'm experiencing but worse. There are similarly glowing fissures in the ground as well. Let's examine them.
Malgor is known to spout nonsense about saving us from pain and sadness. Seeing how these fissures are proof that Lore itself may burst from this excess of mana, he either means to literally put us out of our misery…or he can't control it. What if all of these clues are pointing to the Mana Core overpowering Malgor? I can't say that it's good news. If he can't control the Mana Core, how will we be able to return it to its original state?

Now that we've investigated this far, I can conclude that the mages by the fortress' entrance are keeping it sealed. They may have waited for Dage to enter, and emerged to lock him in. Defeat them and the door will be open to us. But, take great caution. The wounds down their chests…It's the excess mana they can't contain in their bodies bursting outwards. They could explode in your face if they're this overloaded with mana.
On closer examination, Malgor's mages are wounded when they try to use mana. The act of enthralling our soldiers alone caused excessive injury. Alarmingly, these symptoms resemble what our allies and the civilians are experiencing. If casting spells is harming everyone regardless of alignment, our worst case scenario is the Mana Core being permanently locked into this erratic state.

The entrance to Crownsreach's fortress has been blown open. It's quiet. Far too quiet to assume that Dage swept the area of all enemies. There isn't hide nor hair of any chaos faction members either. That would be a welcome sight at any other time but not now. What could have happened here? Hurry, we must defeat the remainder of Malgor's enthralled minions and catch up to the ghoul.
I don't like this. It feels as though an ambush is waiting for us. To the right are the halls, and straight ahead is the room where Drakath would have sat on his make-believe throne. Apologies, my commentary's getting snide. The ache in my neck is turning into shooting pains but I must go with you. I need to know what's going on. Should an attacker jump from the shadows, focus on them and leave me behind if necessary.

The way to the halls on the right are clear, but what in the name of the Avatars is all this? You said this used to be someone's room? Then there's been major redecorating. Drakath converted it into some sort of study. It would not take a scholar to understand what he was researching but I want to take a closer look anyway. I would like you to help me, but if what you find is too gruesome, let me know and I'll take care of the rest.
Judging by the medical diagrams, specially crafted weapons, and books, Drakath is meaning to inflict a fate worse than death on a dragon. There are materials that study the human brain but I think that's to make up for the lack of research on dragons. To render their minds completely blank, without emotion or thought, and force them to live like that… The act is cruel and I can't imagine a reason for doing this outside of pure sadism.

The halls were a dead end. Let us make our way to the Throne Room. Those wisps… They're seeping out of the bodies of Malgor's minions. I can even hear them whispering. Wait - I recognise this. It's the mana Malgor enhanced his forces with. It's escaped their bodies. If we don't break them apart, they'll form into an impenetrable fog of energized mana! Dispel them or else we'll be blocked from going further!
I witnessed such an occurrence when Victoria and I consulted Warlic about spells that could help us fight Dra…Malgor. You didn't think we'd go looking for ways to help you on our own time? Regrettably, the Blue Mage's studies did not pan out. Warlic found the results of his efforts too volatile and I had a minor disagreement with him. It was nothing personal and shouldn't be something you need to worry yourself over.

Beyond the throne room is an altar. This must be where Drakath kept the Queen of Monsters' Heart. Chains, thick iron stakes, powerful magic seals…He loathed this heart instead of coveting it. But the heart's already gone and the room is infested with Malgor's mages. Defeat them and we'll forge our way through. I smell smoke coming from outside, he must be nearby!
Ah! How did I manage to miss that woman cowering in the corner? She's dressed so gaudily, the corruption sickness I'm feeling must be addling my sight. We should speak to her. She might know what we're going to be dealing with when we step outside.

According to this woman, Cemaros, Dage has stopped Malgor from making off with the Queen's Heart. She wants a private word with you. Everyone seems to…Just hurry and talk to her. I can see those frenzied mana whisps gathering outside. They might be seeping out of Warlic. He may end up like Malgor's other mages if we don't clear the mana and get to him soon.
Despite his incredible power, Warlic finds every excuse to weasel his way out of his responsibilities. What a waste of…why did I say that? Why would I ever say that? The Mana Core…Malgor…

I understand if you want to berate me for going behind your back. We can both have at each other for keeping secrets after we stop Malgor from taking the heart. Dage is locked in combat with him, which leaves you to rescue Warlic. His magical abilities are beyond anyone's in Greenguard, perhaps in all of Lore. Defeat him and wrest our friend from Malgor's control!
