Old Wolf
All it took was a sneeze from me to send your men running for the hills. Loyalty, whether it’s from a man or a mutt, isn’t real. They’re going to follow you because you have something they want, or keep their head down cause you scare ’em. Same with me. I’ll show you how to survive and keep your dogs in check. We’ll circle back ‘round to how you’ll pay me when the time comes.

History
It’s Bill. Never call me William. Do I look like a thirty pound librarian to you? Your father and Alteon know me as a ruthless bandit. I had a gang of my own, till I decided to visit Dreadhaven. Why? None of your business. Wasn’t one of my smartest decisions anyways. Got me thrown in the dungeons for a couple years before the rebellion. No one bothered to spare a glance at an escaping convict when Alteon knocked the gates down.

Health
Don’t bother trying to shove me into a ditch. I’m not old and decrepit yet. I’m still a fair way from age fifty even. My hair might have gone grey and you’ll hear a few wet coughs but I plan to stick around. Blame that on the years I spent in Dreadhaven’s dungeons. Most of the other prisoners wanted to be dead after a few months but I held on. Why were we kept alive? Your pa needed fodder for his mages to practice on.

Lineage
Lots of us commoners were curious about this. King Dethrix I, brown hair with gray eyes. Queen Eleanor, blonde with brown eyes. Then there’s you, black hair with green eyes. Queen Eleanor disappeared from the public eye for months. When the King announced that you were born, the castle held an hour long funeral for her. Ha, I didn’t even ask the question and you’re already red-faced. Alright, I won’t pry.

After completing the 'Warning Beacon' quest:

Old Wolf
This Court Mage you’re going after, he’s Lord Reignolds. A former supporter of your father that weaseled away in the last minutes of the rebellion. Alteon’s not going to tolerate him any longer. I don’t know why Reignolds ordered his Knights to hunt you down. If you’re going to kill him first, do it with a level head. Even a rat can cause serious damage when it’s been backed into a corner.
