Hey! You humans get out of here! We have enough to deal with already without having to worry about some "hero" trying to get all "heroic" on us.

I Wish to Pledge Loyalty to Maleth!
What? NO. Are you serious? Look, we don't let humans inside Maleth's castle, and we definitely don't have any use for their "loyalty".
I am not just any human. I am the reincarnation of the Eternal Dragon of Time. My support would be valuable.

Well.. no. But come on, it's not like it's a big secret anymore. Half of Lore even knew about it before I did. Ask anyone!

How can I do that?
We're dealing with total disaster on two different fronts. We've got dragons fighting over the crown down in the valley below, and angry villagers just past the gate who want revenge for all the destruction their fighting has caused. Given enough time, it's nothing we couldn't handle ourselves. But since you've shown up looking for a way to earn our favor, it looks like we won't have to.

What do you need me to do?
First, you'll need to help us solve our villager problem. Kill them, bribe them, burn everything to the ground… we don't care how you fix it. Just fix it!

After completing the 'Talk to the Guard' quest:

Alright, looks like you did manage to get the villagers to put their pitchforks down. Thanks for that. You gonna help us out with the other half of the problem, now? You know, all those dragons who want to take Maleth's crown for themselves?

What do we do now?
Head east again, but once you're past the gate, go down into the valley. Challenge the chosen champions of every breed of dragon that's fighting down there. Once you've bested them, they'll lose the right to challenge Maleth for the Dragon Crown.
