Ai No Mikoto's Quests

Tail End

Yiren is organizing the Wuji Descendants. Two of them are waiting outside at the Mikoto Shrine. Find them, and relay his instructions. This will seal the Mikoto Shrine's mirror, and prevent Koschei from escaping. I've sent Shikigami to guard them, but they will need to be tamed.

+ When Completed

I see. As opposed to the way New Year's blessings are given, this ritual is conducted in reverse order. The Descendants of the Jade Boar and the Jade Hound Princes no longer resemble their predecessors in looks, but I feel the familiarity of their kind and loyal hearts.

A Thousand Hills

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

Half of the seal is in place, but the other half needs your attention. Relay Yiren's instructions to Kana and Li. The Snake Shikigami with them will need to be pacified as well. They're confused, and won't follow my commands because they don't recognize me as Ai No Miko yet.

+ When Completed

The Descendants of the Jade Monkey and Rooster Princesses have traveled far beyond the shores of Wuji and the Yokai Isles. The Empress hides it well, but I sense wistfulness and guilty envy. She also wishes to gaze upon a thousand hills and mountains, accompanied by friends.

With the seal in place, all that needs to be done is to unify the rest of the Descendants' innate magic. Shi Wa Lam and Baoyu are waiting for you to relay Yiren's instructions to them. Be on your guard. Koschei has sensed our activities, and sent her Dragonling Puppets to stop you.

Ah, the Descendants of the Jade Stallion Prince and the Jade Dragon Princess. Ai No Miko is the Descendant of the Jade Serpent Prince, and the Descendants of the Jade Ram Prince are missing. What happened to them? I wish I were able to leave the Realm to search, but soon…

Distant Shores

Alas, the Descendants of the Jade Ox Prince is missing. It will put more burden on the others, but I trust their strength. Yue and Ramona are waiting for you to give them Yiren's instructions. The Dark Zmey are stalking them. Stop them before Ai No Miko's relatives are harmed.

+ When Completed

The Descendant of the Jade Tiger Princess is but a baby, cared for deeply by families from two shores. While I remained in the Yokai Realm, the world continued without me. Lord Kitsune's fears were unfounded. Lore has become kinder, and you are part of the reason why.

Taizi

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

The Descendant of the Jade Mouse Princess is waiting for you to relay Yiren's instructions. He is the rebellious sort, but is skilled despite his youth. The Dragonlings and Zmey are fighting him. Help Chen wipe out the last of Koschei's puppets.

+ When Completed

I see more glimpses of Ai No Miko's memories the longer we're fused together. Chen is the descendant of Wuji's Crown Princess. With the death of his elder brother, the boy occupies a dangerous position. To Ai No Miko's guilt ridden relief, Chen seems to scorn her and all royals.

Begrudged Oni

Requirements: Must have completed the previous quest.

We've completed as much of the ritual as we are able to. Now it's time to let Yiren know. He's stationed to the south of this cave, where the spirits of deceased Yokai begin their path to reincarnation. Cut the strings blocking the way forward, and pacify the Oni Spirits lingering nearby.

+ When Completed

Do not begrudge the raucous Oni. They are pure and innocent, in the most destructive of senses. Their existence pushes others to survive, thrive, and learn to act beyond animal instinct. I do not hold any grudges towards Yiren, either. His role was thrusted upon him by a force beyond his control.

Linking Discord

I've asked my Shikigami to survey the path ahead. Find him. He has gone to where his fellow spirits will drift, reincarnate, and forget about him. He'll need you to keep the Spirits from resisting the flow. Their lingering outrage will only serve to help Koschei by obstructing us.

+ When Completed

The mistakes made by the fallen guardian of the Isles linger in the souls of his kin. That, too, will be purified when they begin their new lives. My Shikigami has reincarnated before, and stubbornly refuses to let old wounds heal. Perhaps these events will force him to confront his grudges.

Yokai's Cycle

Koschei is nearby. She has run out of puppets, but her mere presence is causing the spirits of the Realm to become frenzied. Please, pacify them. If they stray too far in the confusion, the Yokai will never be able to reincarnate.

I know that they have given you and Ai No Miko an endless amount of trouble, but they have perished. Let death claim their wrongdoings. When they reincarnate…I will have already found a way to make sure they act more amicably.

Kojutsu

Ai the edge of the path to reincarnation is a guardian meant to protect the cycle of the Yokai Realm. The role is currently held by an Inugami, and Koschei's influence is causing them to lash out violently. Pacify them, so that they can herd the Yokai to their rightful place.

+ When Completed

I underestimated how much time I had. This is goodbye. Take care of your friends, Dragon. A long life without compensations is torture, and you have only just began yours.
