You may have noticed a dog outside of the Akiba Tower. His name is Hachiko, and he has become a symbol for loyalty here on Yokai Isle. Hachiko was once owned by a wise teacher, who stayed in the tower. Every day Hachiko would greet his master at the door of the hotel until, one day, his master did not return from teaching.
More
Sadly Hachiko's master had passed away while at work but every day, at the same time Hachiko comes out to see if his master will return. Eventually the people of the town began bringing him food and treats.More
Hachiko still waits for his master's return but he now knows that every citizen of Akiba is his friend, and is always happy to greet new friends. He became such loved and respected symbol for loyalty that my father, Emperor Daisho, changed the hotel into a barracks for his most loyal ninja and samurai warriors and changed the name to Hachiko Tower!

Greetings, <Hero>! You are just in time to help us decorate for the Star Festival. I couldn't wish for a better person to help me.
Star Festival?
Every year, we celebrate the star-crossed gods, the Weaver Princess and the CowHerd Prince. After allowing their marriage, the Sky King grew angry with how much his daughter loved the CowHerd Prince. Once a year, they are allowed to meet, IF the Sky King approves… It is a festival for wishes and hoping your dreams will come true. And this year, I will make sure they do!
Why This Year?
I feel very close to the Weaver Princess. She and I are much alike, I think. I want to help her… and if I can succeed in that, it will bode well for the coming year. A sign that all will be well, and that my home and people will flourish, like her love.
Star Festival Legend
LEGEND OF TANABATA
This is the tale of two stars, Altair and Vega, and the gods who represent them. The Weaving Princess is the daughter of the Sky King. She wove many beautiful garments for all of the Celestial Gods, but was so busy with her tasks that she had no time for love. She grew sad, and her father sought to make her happy. He arranged a marriage for her with the Cowherd Prince, who lived on the other side of the River of Stars.
The two were very happy… so happy, that the Weaving Princess grew neglectful, and many months passed where she did not weave a single length of cloth. Her father grew angry at this, and brought her back to his side of the River of Stars, where the Cowherd Prince could not reach her.
The Sky King only allows them to meet on 7th night of the 7th month. And only if she has not neglected her weaving. If she has been a dutiful daughter, she is able to ride the moon across the River of Stars to spend a single night her the Prince. If her father is displeased with the Weaving Princess, he brings rain, which causes the river to rise, preventing her from crossing. If she is lucky, though, her cries will call flocks of magpies, which form a bridge to help her cross the river and see her love.
After completing the 'Festival of Stars' quest:

While you were hanging decorations, a malicious wind spirit came and scattered MY wishes for Orohime's happiness. The spirit was foolish, and full of hot air. It gloated, telling me how far away one of the wishes was sent: DragonRune Hall. If we can move fast enough to recover them, we CAN still help.

Long ago, an ancient beast called the Nian plagued the isle of Yokai. The Nian would wreak havoc across the lands, destroying everything in its wake. My ancestors then discovered that the Nian was afraid of the color red, which is why Akiba is adorned with crimson. Firecrackers also frightened the Nian. The Chinese New Year celebration eventually scared the Nian away and it never came to Akiba ever again. The Nian was eventually defeated by a great warrior, but we still celebrate the Chinese New Year to kkep evil spirits at bay. However… it appears that the spirit of the Nian lives on!
The Nian spirit has chaorrupted the sacred Four Creatures of the World. Each Creature--The Black Tortoise, White Tiger, Red Bird, and Blue Dragon--symbolizes the four directions, seasons, and elements. These Creatures are deeply rooted in our Mythology and we cannot let them succumb to the Nian! Please, Hero, you must save them!

Every day Hachiko would greet his master at the door of the hotel until, one day, his master did not return from teaching.Sadly Hachiko's master had passed away while at work but every day, at the same time Hachiko comes out to see if his master will return. Eventually the people of the town began bringing him food and treats.
Hachiko still waits for his master's return but be now knows that every citizen of Akiba is his friend, and is always happy to greet new friends. He became such loved and respected symbol for loyalty that my father, Emperor Daisho, changed the hotel into a barracks for his most loyal ninja and samurai warriors and changed the name to Hachiko Tower!

Hello there, Hero. As you can see… we are dealing with an unruly guest in our custody. According to the locals, he's arrived early for our Lunar New Year celebration, and has been harassing people, challenging whoever looks "worthy" to some sort of duel. Thank you for responding to my invitation. The statues of the Knight and the Priestess have challenged you to traverse their Temple and Shrine. Talk to them for direction, but be on your guard.
Talk
I heard that a hidden village made themselves known, and began spreading word of the deities they worshiped. Challengers from all over the Isles arrived to traverse the Temple of the Solstice Moon and the Shrine of the Midnight Sun. Triumphing will earn you their patron deities blessings. I would rather someone I trust, you, win their two-faced rewards. This is what I've discovered.Deities
The Temple and Shrine are a mixture of Greenguard and Yokai influences, but the two deities said that they took their power from fallen gods that once resided in the Northlands. It has opened my eyes to how I've been too focused on the inner workings of Yokai. We are no longer isolated, and I must turn my attention to how the lands from afar will affect and influence us in the future.Bloodlines
I had some time to examine the statues before you arrived. The Priestess' garb resembles that of Lord Asahina, a member of my royal court - specifically his missing grand aunt. She must have ran into this knight when she fled Yokai. I have been exchanging letters with Queen Victoria, and she mentioned that the great grand uncle of Lady Cavendish also went missing some time ago. This appears to be where they ended up.Scroll
I visited the village nearby to prevent any trouble brought about by their sudden reveal, and one of the elders gave me a scroll in the bottle. It floated here generations ago, written by a man who I believe was one of the previous Kings of Greenguard. Do read it. The scroll taught me much about our lands' shared history.

The people of Yokai lost so much in the war. It's all so fresh - we are all still mourning our dead. But our graveyard has been overrun by a powerful onryō and his followers. They are vandalizing the graves, and preventing people from visiting their loved ones. It's too much for me to handle on my own!
Tell me about this onryō.
Shimazu is his name. Killed during the war, reawakened by Malgor. He was one of Jaaku's men, and in death he has focused his anger on those who killed him - me, and my people. He stalks our graveyard, along with the soldiers who served under him in life, attacking anyone who enters to mourn their dead. Please, help me defeat him so I can visit my father's grave.
After completing the 'The Summoning' quest:

Princess of Yokai
Thank you for coming to help us! My father is convinced that Jaaku poses no real threat, but I'm not so sure. There is something about him this time that feels wrong. There is a power, a strength that we have never seen before.
So what's the deal with this Jaaku guy?
He's a shogun with a lust for power. His aim is to control all of Yokai, and he's been making plays for Akiba for as long as I can remember. Every few years he shows up, we beat him back, and he slinks home with his tail between his legs. But not this time?
With your help, I believe we can defeat him! Father thinks I'm worrying too much, but… better safe than sorry, right?

The Weaving Princess will have her night with the Cowherd Prince, and my hope for the coming year is strong. Stronger than it has ever been. I cannot find the words to thank you for your help. I leave you with the words of our most skilled poets…

And this year, I will make sure they do!Why This Year?
I feel very close to the Weaver Princess. She and I are much alike, I think. I want to help her… and if I can succeed in that, it will bode well for the coming year. A sign that all will be well, and that my home and people will flourish, like her love.

Greetings, Hero! It is good to see you again, under less taxing circumstances. I've asked you here to help me with a Yokai Hunt!

We had a lead on the Etokōun being near this forest, however it looks like a group of Nopperabo found it first! They are holding it in their camp deep in the forest. Admiral
My subjects are being pursued by Admiral Shen Zheng, the commander of the Wuji Empire's naval forces. I've heard stories of his exploits. Mother said that a dragon hatched from the pearl of a humongous clam and wreaked havoc on Wuji. Admiral Zheng slew it underwater, and gained the ability to conjure mists and break apart typhoons. Stories of Wuji are scattered, so I may not know the ones that were passed through Yue's line.
Cave
This island, known as Takarajima, was where the Yokai Royal Family would hide their treasured belongings during times of strife. For now, I've moved the twelve Wuji Princes and Princesses inside, along with each of their line's family heirlooms. They were to be protected by a seal that would only allow members of the Yokai Ruler's family through. I've temporarily removed it so the ship's crew and passengers can hide inside.
Greenguard
Queen Victoria and I regularly correspond through letters. Though I sense some insecurity, the Queen is down to earth, and puts aside her anxieties to care for her people. She listened intently when I informed her of our plight, so it irked me that Lord Brentan disobeyed her strict orders to allow Yokai to handle its own affairs. Ah, what's done is done. Hm? She listened intently when I informed her of our plight, so it irked me that Lord Brentan disobeyed her strict orders to allow Yokai to handle its own affairs. Ah, what's done is done. Hm? Where is the Queen now? Our letters slowed because she became quite busy.
